This is the first sermon in the series “When Good Become God”. In this series we make the case that you cannot truly know yourself without understanding how idolatry works. In order to defend that claim, we spend some time defining what idolatry is and then demonstrating how idolatry explains our lives.
In this talk we tackle the issue of idolatry by defining it and asking three questions:
What constitutes an idol?
How do I know what my idol is?
Why is it so bad to have an idol?
In the rest of the sermon series we tackle some common concrete examples of idolatry in our personal lives.
